Some interesting articles about Dennis Ritchie, co-creator of the C language and unix

I read last night that Dennis Ritchie had died over the weekend, and with the news of his death I started to read about him.

Article from wired on his death.

A tribute from a google employee, Rob Pike who worked across the office from Dennis Ritchie at Bell Labs.

It is amazing to the extent that his creations changed the world. The C language ( or one of its descendants ) is the most widely used programming language in existence, and it was created to help make another one of his most famous creations the unix operating system. Unix started what is today known as the open source movement. Cheers to you sir

Bonus: light show i found on HN, pretty crazy use of webgl! I had not seen it used like this, impressive.
